Post #794, wherein I do a little poem about being back

Yes, I'm back.
Seville, Spain, again.
Very nice it was too --
except for the rain.

Candy Minx sold Asterisk’s Brew

Asterisk's Brew (complete)

"Bye bye, Asterisk's Brew": a commemorative poem

Oh, bye bye, Asterisk's Brew...
It's been a pleasure knowing you.
You looked great with drips in pink.
Going up, they made us think.

And now you've found a home,
no longer need you roam.
You'll hang upon a wall,
bringing joy to all
who see you.

9/11 five years on: post #3

"Gone", a poem

It felt as though the tears would never stop.
It seemed just like the world was going to end.

But life
went on,
for me
and you.

Sometimes I think back to that day,
and the pain seems just as fresh.

But now
it subsides
much more
quickly.

This is my only poem to be published in a book so far. © 2005

“Cat Alarm” – a poem

That blogging cat of mine has been at it again. Check him out.

And here's a poem I like to call "Cat Alarm".

Wake up!
HELLO!
It’s 4:30 a.m. –
time
to
feed
me.
Follow
me
downstairs.

Oh, sorry,
seems I had food all along.
Well, stay a while
and watch me eat.

You know what?
Actually, I’m not hungry.
I’m going out instead.
You, go back to bed.

“Mum” – a poem

I called you.
I told you
things you didn't want to hear.
You cried,
but would you rather I lied?

I told you
we loved you,
but when I put down the phone
I cried.
I'm sorry you're alone.

“NHS” – a poem

Owwwwwww!
Uuuuggghh!
I can’t fucking stand, man.
I can’t get up.
I’ve been cut open,
fixed and stitched,
and now you want my bed.
But can’t you give
my blood the time
to reach my fucking head?

I’m yellow, dude – take a look,
let me rest a while.
See the way the pain
has painted my demented smile.

The bed is mine, I’m staying put –
It’s no more than I deserve.
I just hope and pray I’m out of here
before the food is served.

Radiator Cat

Oh Cat, lying there by the radiator for 12 hours, won’t you teach us how to be as relaxed as you?
