“Cat Alarm” – a poem
That blogging cat of mine has been at it again. Check him out.
And here's a poem I like to call "Cat Alarm".
Wake up!
HELLO!
It’s 4:30 a.m. –
time
to
feed
me.
Follow
me
downstairs.
Oh, sorry,
seems I had food all along.
Well, stay a while
and watch me eat.
You know what?
Actually, I’m not hungry.
I’m going out instead.
You, go back to bed.

That poem has Cat down to a tee.
That times 11 here!
So, your cat and our cat are twins.
This happens nearly every night, or should I say early hours of the morning.
Then he'll be back in for a drink not out of his bowl, oh no, sits in the batch meowing for me to run him a fresh little puddle to drink from. Mental.
this is now, one of my favorite posts :P
and this is why I am a dog person.
I have to agree with the commenter above. Cats are cute and I've loved a few, but they definitely are not man's best friend.
This poem captures them perfectly though!
My daughters cat..."Bits" around 7 a.m.
Eyes rolling back into head, nudging me fingers...pushing head under hand and self-patting. "She never feeds me" "She was out late partying and she didn't feed me yesterday before she went to work and the water has evaporated and she didn't feed me when she got home either"
This morning when the daughter wakes up...we have a big pot of tea...and I ask..."Um did you feed Bits yesterday?" Trying not to sound like hassling mum.
YES.
Oh okay, well he said you didn't just checking.
He made me look like such an idiot.
This is funny and so true. Also, I enjoyed your Jaws comment on my blog.
this list is getting longer instead of shorter - not good.
Red: Hello there! Yes it does.
4D: I can only imagine...
Alex: Ours did the running-water thing a few years ago; less so now, thankfully.
_z.: Thanks very much. (I love dogs, too, of course.)
Janet: Thanks. I wasn't sure if it captured cats perfectly, as a whole, or just mine. I guess I'm now finding out it's a universal thing.
Candy: That is exactly our cat, too! And Wife's mum's. They just always want to be fed.
Adam: Cheers. I couldn't resist that Jaws gag...!
another thing... I think cats would use the word "bitch" a lot!
wake up bitch!
Well, yes, and the thing is then he plays me...makes me look bad, tricks me into feeling sorry for him...then Tiff gets mad at ME!!!
ha ha ha
too true to even be funny!
_z.: Well, mine doesn't seem to. Maybe it's the dog connotation. Who knows, though: you may have inspired him now...
Candy: Cats are good at making people look bad. And feel bad.
Yakima_Gulag: Hi there. Crazy, aren't they?!
AHAHAHHAHAHAAHAHA!!
My cat is exactely like that. So in the summer I make sure he sleeps in the shed but in winter it's wake up call at 5 am for me, Monday to Friday. Somehow he knows that Saturday and Sunday mean 'week-end' so he doesn't even bother to put his furry paw on my cheeck -no chance of mama getting up.
