I short chew might like chew shee zhish

What is with the way Liza Minnelli talks?! "Shtart shpreading the newzh", and all that? Anyway, ridiculous as that is, it pales in comparison to what a complete fucking talentless, pitchy, piece-of-shit performer she has become.

Witness the clip below, courtesy of YouTube, of a show I saw on Italian TV in our hotel when in Seville. Fast-forward to 5:22 when she gets into her shtride with "New York, New York", and schtick with it if you can.

Sherioushly, if she were an unknown in thish day and age, she would be laughed off any shtage she grayshed. Embarrashing. Give up, Lizha, and make room for shum new talent.

And yet they all love her...

Trading on past glories, methinks.

I think it's all the drugs and alcohol she's ingested over the decades.

Do you think she would have been able to make it as big as she did if she hadn't been Judy Garland's daughter?

Who knew she still performed?

It's got to be her new teeth. She was always affected but that is painful to watch.

Sadly she comes from a time when you could get by with one act the whole of your career. And of course she got a leg-up from her mother, who really did have a voice.

I look at it like this, Karen Carpenter had the voice of an angel, but if she had been alive today, would I still have the same affection for her singing? Whereas Lisha/Liszzzha/Lizzza may have been good enough for an off-Broadway show, belting out the show tunes but technically ... eewww!

"this video is no longer available"

hmm, expect a nice envelope from her lawyers dropping through your letter box pretty soon.

Awww, gutted that this has been deleted!

Cappy: Fortunately I was not responsible for it being uploaded, so I have no lawyers to fear! (Other than calling her a has-been, but I don't think I can get sued for that... Can I?)

Well...musicals and Broadway have been dead for years..and she was not alone having a strange style and kind of show. Shirley McClaine is similar as were several women before them...but it is completely out of vogue except for it's recent slight comeback with a little show called American Idol.

Now if you know how you feel hearing Liza perform...you will understand why I don't like the singing styles of most competitors on American Idol.

Same school of voice training.

Anyways I think Liza has some damage from drugs and booze which affect many addicts especially if they already had a speech impediment.

This post did make me laugh...and look how many younger generations hate the blues style of Dylan...and i imagine younger generations will hate the style of Adam Ant and Thome Yorke someday....

(sometime check out the movie "Caberet" it might help clarify some of the talent Liza had when she was starting out...she does capture decadence and pathos in that role and story)
