Tuesday stuff

The day is fast disappearing, unlike my workload, and I fear I won't get a post done today. That makes me frustrated. Luckily, though, I did post a review over at Such As They Are first thing this morning, so that's good.

In other news: my Season 2 DVDs of Twin Peaks arrived today, and I couldn't be more excited. Well, I could be, I suppose -- about going on holiday and spending some quality time with the missus, for example -- or getting a new tattoo, but I'm still pretty psyched.

We went out after lunch and ordered some tiles for the kitchen, which we are getting redone in a few weeks. Bloody hell! £240 for a couple of walls' worth of tiles. I hope we've seriously overordered, cos they have a returns policy, thankfully, so we might get some money back after the job is done.

Oh well, I've got to get my ass to the post office now and pay my Visa bill. How lovely that is, huh?

I will go check out your reviews shortly...I just posted a couple movie reviews myself.

Ooh wow, Twin peaks...I haven't watched it in years ya know...I kind of pledged to let a lot of time go by then re-visit...and I suppose now a lot of time has gone by! I just bought BBC Pride and Prejudice...got a great deal on it...now how am I going to get Stagg to watch it with me, I'll have to convince him of the value of the politics and gender wars I think...which is actually true.

I like how you didn't reveal the movie title you reviewed i have to go just to see what it is!!!

Ahhh...home-fixing can be pricey can't it? Good luck!

I got into Twin Peaks too late and could never recover. Maybe I should start at the beginning.

Twin Peaks always made me feel a bit off kilter, like I was drinking or had taken some (good) acid.
I dunno. Think I'm tooo old for that now.

I never watched Twin Peaks. As for home improvement, I still have way too much to do. sigh. I bet those tiles are lovely.

i watched "the proposition" last night. mainly because it had ray winstone in it. (how he manages an acting career alongside his work on anthropology i'll never know), and wow! what a film. you can definately tell nick cave has had a hand in it!
and what happened in the world that guy pierce went from being a crap, bit part on nieghbours, to this standard of acting.
won't spoil it by saying what it's about, but if you haven't already seen it, then i strongly advise you do!

I'm glad you Cappy liked 'The Proposition'. It's one of the best movies from last year. That forlorn place, it almost makes me want to move to Australia.

Candy: Twin Peaks is great. I have watched the whole series twice, so I'm excited to be watching it again in glorious DVD quality.

Lee: Home-fixing is v expensive. Sheesh. It's never too late to get into Twin Peaks. Netflix it!

Biddie: And the problem is...? Never too old.

Olives: Get your Twin Peaks on now. Watch it with the kids; they'd love it. The tiles ain't all that, actually. They're nice but quite plain, beige in colour, and rectangular in shape. Even so, they cost 55p ($1.10) each!

Martha: I know!

Suze: Ah, they are too treasured to entrust to Royal Mail, soz!

DP: I could, I guess, but I mostly don't.

Cappy: I didn't much care for The Propostion. You can read my review here.

Audible: I think we just saw episode 10, the one after the six-months-ago flashback episode. All good stuff, but I hate having to wait a week between eps.

Milla: Not this weekend, you can't, but any other is usually fine! We'll get the David Lynch coffee on and a good supply of baklava instead of doughnuts!
