I read that earlier, it is sad. You'd think anyone who lives to be 96 would be allowed to spend the rest of their days without having to worry about money.

That is sad when you have to sell mementos from something like this. Just to live.. Poor woman. but it seems she has her head screwed on the right way though. but family and such should be getting those items when she passes on sometime...

how we treat the elderly is shameful. maybe someone will buy up all of her mementos and then give them back to her.

This ws a very moving story. I bet she will have some help now that there was an article about her...I hope so.


It sounds like she doesn't have any family. At least she owned a house and had investments to lean on.

she's actually in better shape than a lot of our old folks ..
i know I could sell everything in my whole house and maybe come up with enough money to stay a day and a half in an old folks home :(
