Feck.

Doctor says I have a hernia. That'll be the third of my life. What the fuck is up with that?

And as much as I hate that my body clearly loves doing this shit to me, I hate even more that the end result is surgery. I don't wanna be chopped up and go through all the recuperation stuff again. It's just not fun. I like fun stuff.

So I'm feeling a bit down, but I know I have to just get on with my shit. Still, the news isn't even 24 hours old yet (even if I was fairly convinced of it a few days ago), so I guess I can allow myself a little moping time, right?

Yes, you're allowed to mope around. My father was a hernia sufferer as well and ended up having surgery. Just make sure you relax and take care of yourself. It may not be fun but you wouldn't want to dive back into the fun stuff before you body is completely ready, right? Although it's difficult to not give in to the fun stuff....it's so tempting.

And, like Milla, I loves ya too! As do lots of other folks so you have to get better, see? To help you focus on recooperating, think of the delicious maple cookies and jam I'll be bringing you in about 4 months and 2 weeks!!!!

Milla: Thank you, pet. Nice to know, but unfortunately doesn't help my predicament. Shame, that.

Karen: Funnily enough, the doctor said it could be at least 16 weeks till my surgery... Um, November, December, January, February... UK waiting lists, huh?! I'll keep my fingers crossed for something considerably sooner while still weighing up my other options. Thanks for da luv, though.

you're allowed as much time as you need when it involves "those" areas!
and i thought you only got em by doing heavy manuual labour....who knew?
seriously, hope you're ok.

Cappy: Not just manual labour. They are quite common in footballers, for example: all those long stretches of groin muscles and the like. Urrghhh. Not that I was playing football either! And I keep a low profile mosh-wise!

Mr A: Thanks. I think I'd feel less mopey if I hadn't already been through it all twice already (once aged 3, and once aged 27).

So...it's an abdominal hernia? If so, my brother had this surgery a year ago and he had a mesh net put in the abdominal wall and if they do this with you, you should never have another hernia.

He got his by coughing during a nasty cold, BTW.

Thanks Martha :)

F/ball: Sometimes it all just comes at once, right? Free healthcare rocks, but you gotta waaaaaait long time...

Coyote: Yeah, I think I have mesh in my one from last time, so I imagine this one will be too. As my old gran used to say, "It's not the cough that carries you off; it's the coffin they carry you off in." (Apropos of very little.)

Sorry to hear that, mate. I had a hernia when I was 2, nearly died. Saved by some lovely doctor at Hammersmith Hospital. Anyway, I do have a lovely scar to show for it...so that's to look forward to eh? Chicks dig scars, and you could always say you got it duelling or something...I always do.

Tweetey: Thanks. It's been a stressful couple of weeks, too, which hasn't helped. But I'm looking forward to relaxing some!

Punxxi: Moping is one thing I'm rel good at, so I will. But not for too long!

Shea: WWSPD is my mantra, buddy!

Shep: Thanks bud. My first one was at age 2, too. Well, 30 months, to be precise, so I've already got duelling scars on both sides. Before long, chicks will start to guess I musta lost my duel...
