Post #799, wherein it’s black-news day

Wesley Snipes goes to prison for three years for tax evasion...

... on the same day that three NYC cops are acquitted of any wrongdoing over the 50-shot shooting of an unarmed black man outside a nightclub.

Meanwhile, we're told that controversial headline act Jay-Z will "be brilliant for Glastonbury. He's the best rapper of all-time and I think he'll knock it out of the park," by that bastion of music criticism Gwyneth Paltrow.

I don't have any respect for the opinion of someone who chooses to make babies with that cauliflower-headed dude from Coldplay.

i have to agree with emily eavis and others, that everyone seems to be focusing on jay-z, when there will be thousands of acts on all weekend.
i can't say i am overly impressed that they chose him to headline the main stage, but glasto IS the festival of diversity, and who knows, he may be the hit of the weekend.
my prediction is that there will be one hell of a turnout for his set. and as much as i don't personally like that kind of music, i for one cannot wait to see what he brings.

what does gwyneth paltrow know about music? she married chris martin.

For a moment there, I thought you were talking about Glastonbury, CT. It just didn't make sense. Jay-Z in CT?

Red: Cauliflower headed?? hahahahahha!

You know, because I don't listen to the radio and have no TV, i ahev no idea what kind of music Jay-Z makes. I know what rap is, but my knowledge stopped with Run DMC and Public Enemy -and it wasn't my cuppa tea anyway.

When I attended Glasto it was about crusty music... not rap celebrities...oh those were the days...

Hey I didn't even know you had new blog posts! I've been checking for days and it's been so quiet around here...

I'm late, but the Wesley Snipes story really caught my eye...and how can that poor guy have died without some kind of resolution for his bride...sad...

I thought Jay-Z made some excellent choices for production and mixing genres a couple of years ago...the last thing anyone expected whas for him to have his OWN relevant comeback musically...interesting to watch...
