So, my brother is on to the next round of X Factor auditions, to be held on 11 July. At this one I think he will come face to face with Simon Cowell. Oh, to be a fly on the wall...
Meanwhile, the missus and I are heading off to the dentist today. I hate going to the dentist. I'm not an anti-dentite, but I know I don't floss as often as I should, and I'll get told off. Also, when I'm lying on my back, that big, fuck-off light above my head is so bright that it makes my eyes water. I'm not crying, I swear. It's just too damn bright!
We took a look at the new house in the hood. To be fair, it's not as hideous as I was expecting. But they've only put one up so far. The other arrives on Saturday. Two new houses in the space of five days. So, this is the modern world that I've learned about.

There used to be a large house at the end of my street with a good-sized garden. Now, there's a row of four 'town houses' without a scrap of garden between them where the house used to be, AND, another row of five 'town houses' without a scrap of garden between them in what used to be the garden. They have three storeys, garages and drives, but no greenery whatsoever. Depressing stuff.

As for new housing....well...even old housing is shit in England. Especially the area where we live. Shit shit shit hosues made of cardboard and MDF.
The housing situation here is fucking deploring average price of a house here is €500,000 in dublin and like your neck of the woods if a patch of green appears in the crack of a pavement they'll build on it..

How cool for your brother. I hate dentists too. But they seem a necessary evil.
My hometown used to be rural farmland. Now there are highrises, townhomes, office parks and tall buildings near eight lane highways and shopping centers, squares and more. Sigh.

That big fuck off light always reminds me of those scenes in spy movies where they shine that light into some poor person's eyes while they are squirming against their bonds.
