Red
I gotta tell you guys and gals: Red made us a mean leek and potato pie last week. Delicious.
I didn't even know if I liked leeks, y'know, but they were smashing! There must be pictures somewhere, so maybe I'll try to track one down.

Is she going to post the recipe on Begger's Banquet? I love leeks and potatoes and pie. Oh my, and she put them all together. She is an angel.
I just don't know, Karen. I was surprised to learn that she didn't even take a picture of it. I think she's telling me porkies, actually.
I love leeks, have some in the fridge right now. I love leeks and squash with lots of butter. I also use leeks in soup all the time, adding them after the vegies are suateed and the broth is ready. They float to the top of the soup when just cooked a bit and look gorgeous!
Porkies?
Leeks rock.
Candy: They do look cool when they're floating, that's true!
Karen: Porkies = pork pies = lies. Cockney rhyming slang. Like "Use your loaf" means "Use your head", loaf of bread being rhyming slang for head. That sort of thing.
Mr A: I'm thinking you may be right.
I think it's so sweet that you went through your life thinking that leeks were evil, and then badabing! it's your favourite vegetable. I need to find a way to sell you aubergines now...
Awwwww I think it's sweet that he called the post 'Red' and it is about discovering something he didn't know about and finding out he loves it!
Red: What can I say? I'm an innocent! You know I'm getting okay with aubergines, though.
Milla: Yeah, I promised that my post #501 would be called Red, but it didn't quite work out that way, so I got in bad books!
