And on the subject of films...
Click here to see the contents of mine and Red's Lovefilm queue. There's only 20 items on it right now, with two films in transit to us: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Syriana.
I'd be interested in seeing screen shots of your Lovefilm/Netflix queues, too, if any of you are in a sharing kind of mood.

Hey, maybe I'll go grab Syrianna because Stagg hasn't seen it yet, then we can have a group discussion!
You crack me up you know?
Every time you post a review...you always always say "such as they are".
we accept your reviews, I look forward to them...don't be so hard on your self by saying "such as they are" you are not only giving me the giggles EVERY time...but you are transmitting slef doubt.
Come on, just go for it!
And actually, you even said "such as they are" TWICE in your last post.
Okay, I haven't finished reading that last post, I had to say something about your disclaimer "such as they are".
We believe! Don't worry. We like readign your film reviews...no disclaimer needed!
(even though you and I don't always agree hee hee!)
Candy: A group discussion of Syriana will be fun, no? I'm still looking forward to yor thoughts on DOAP, too. I'm glad you noticed the "disclaimer". I've used it all along, primarily because the early "reviews" were slipped into posts on other subjects, and were not a post in their own right. But I kind of liked it, and it's stuck. I may do something with that title soon anyway...
Glad to crack you up and give you the giggles, though. Not so keen on transmitting self-doubt! Thanks for the kind words, too.
Hmmm, a discussion of Syriana. I haven't seen it yet but would be willing to give it a go. Any thought on when that might happen?
Tonight I'm going to try and get "Who Killed the Electric Car".
My list won't all fit on a screen shot. My Netflix list has 180 movies on it. I don't get to see movies as often as I would like. Once the kid is in bed, I am usually drooling on the couch shortly after. My most recent send backs are: V for Vendetta, and Bukowski: Born Into This. King Kong has been sitting here unwatched for ages. The next few on my list are Big Red One: Special Edition and bonus material, Kurt and Courtney, Laurel Canyon, Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (hubby's add), and Tom and Jerry: Paws for a Holiday (for the kid).
I liked Syriana, though my buddy Fluffy hated it.
I really liked Syriana. In fact, I did a whole post on movies I like back in October referencing Syriana. I have yet to see kiss kiss bang bang - Can't wait to hear what you all think of it. I quit netflix because our cable has ON Demand. The rare time I get two hours to sit and watch a movie is becoming rare these days.
Ok. Here is my cue. Months old - I started having trouble with DVD and TV both and have trouble watching. Maybe Santa will bring me a little DVD player that can go to bed with me. Oh, and I enjoy the reviews - helps me to know what I want to watch. The list:
The Corporation
The Eyes of Tammy Faye
Daughter from Danang: American Experience
The Devil's Advocate

Karen: Our copy of Syriana arrived in the post today. Not sure if we'll watch it straightaway; we'll have to discuss. See if you can grab a copy soon. Guess it doesn't matter if we all watch on different days anyway.
Camie: 180 movies. Christ on a bike! I don't think there are even 180 movies ever made that I want to see... Seriously. I've seen the UK version of Kurt and Courtney; I believe the US version has more anti-Courtney stuff in it -- stuff that would have been illegal over here because of our slander laws or something. I bought The Big Red One: The Reconstruction a couple of weeks ago. Never seen either version yet. Looking forward to it. I'm quite looking forward to Syriana too.
Olives: I've heard mostly good things about Syriana. At the end of the day, it's a movie, not a documentary, and most negative comments seem to be along the lines of it being too simplistic (and yet rather convoluted). We'll see. I shall make up my own mind, no doubt!
Dollface: Thanks for that list. There's some really good stuff on there. I've seen some of them. I like The Corporation, although it's rather dully narrated, if memory serves. I also thought The Woodsman was really good, though Red hated it. Stir Of Echoes is way better than The Sixth Sense. I'm not sure which Murder By Numbers that is, but if it's the documentary I saw, then it was really good.
Martha: Also some great films there, thanks for sharing. Quite a few are in my home collection, so I can't knock them. I've never seen Cool Hand Luke, either. Super Size Me is good and scary!
Tanya: Mysterious Skin is a great gay movie, which I know you're always on the lookout for! Lots of other good filsm too, but loads I haven't seen. Thanks for taking the time to type them up; sorry your screen grabber's kaputt! I've got a feeling that Red added Transamerica to our queue today.
