What can this guy possibly come up with as an excuse that will make us all go, “Ah, well, fair enough then”?

A 32-year-old man armed to the teeth walks into a local one-room Amish school, binds up ten girls aged between six and 13, lines them up against the blackboard, and shoots them at point-blank range. [BBC News story here]

We are told that it was a revenge killing for something that happened to him when he was 12. Something concerning girls, which is why he set free all the boys at the school before his kill rampage began.

At the current count, five girls are dead and five are in a "serious" condition. If first reports are to be believed, the girls were all shot execution-style in the head, so I suspect we will see an end toll of ten for ten.

While we all try to work out exactly what this "loving husband" suffered 20 years ago, our minds might run amok, but in truth, what can this guy possibly come up with as an excuse that will make us all go, “Ah, well, fair enough then”?

Even if he was tied down and butt raped with a baseball bat, that's still no fucking excuse to take it out on (a) girls who weren't involved and (b) a community that wasn't involved. How about going after the people who did you the harm, fuckwit?

Ah, of course, you can't do that now, because like so many of these worthless pieces of shit who go round killing innocent kids you decided to kill yourself too, thereby denying anyone else their own revenge on you. Cunt.

Seriously, what could have happened? Was he shoved while queueing at mealtimes? Mocked for wearing glasses? Bullied for his weekly allowance, even? WTF, it was 20 years ago, get over it already.

Most likely the excuse would be something silly like some chick dumped him or bashed him over the head or bullied him or saw his wanger and laughed.

You know... I have a really good excuse to go out there and seek revenge. I don't have the urge because I don't feel I will make anything better.

He'll have to come back and face worse than what he put those girls through in his next lifetime. Which is such a shame. Karma bites you in the arse.

Red: I know... Ridiculous.

_z.: A village called, sadly enough, Paradise, in Pennsylvania. I've added a link to the BBC story now. It's insane, really. It is distressing at the best of times when this shit happens, but it does seem all the more horrible that a particular school was targeted simply for ease of access, given that the community does not subscribe to modern trappings such as high-tech security measures. Very sad.

Why even bother reasoning on a guy who obviously went crazy?
not many conclusions to be drawn... none on him, none on society or anything
really just a sad story

(hey nice blog)

Tanya: Like many people around the world, I'm fascinated to see what this reason will be. I imagine it will be something truly trivial. But even if it isn't, like I said in the post, these aren't the people you take it out on... unless you're a spineless fuck who can't go after someone your own size and have to shoot six-year-old girls in the head instead. I like the notion of karma, and I hope he gets a big kick out of it too.

Was there a suicide note? If not it could just be his family trying to come up with some bit of logic as to why he would do such a thing. But sometimes there is no reason other than some people are just completely worthless, crazy pieces of shit. Sad really.

Angel: By now, I'm sure you know there was a note. And suddenly the story gets bumped down the list of headline-worthiness.

Tinkerbell: The problem is we in the "civilized" world have fostered this notion of it being okay to do terrible things to people if you had terrible things done to you. Diminished responsibility. The circle of inevitability makes it all understandable and okay. Fuck off. That a person was abused surely should help him or her realize how terrible it is to be abused, not to want to inflict the same shit on others? That's some serious shit on you, though... Hopefully not all in the same incident. Although, Christ..., I don't think three separate incidents makes it any "better", actually.
