Thanks for all your well wishes on the dad thing. Will update fully later, but in the meantime I can report that it went okay. She's all right. And I apologize to my mum for being a traitor...

you done well. took a lot of guts just to meet her, whatever age you might be. i would imagine it probably gets harder the older you get.
but you've done it, and as you say she is alright. and at the end of the day, it's your dads happiness thats important yes?

Asterisk, you are not a trator at all, you are just making the best of the situation you find yourself in. It's not easy and you seem to have got the right approach.

I know how you feel, I felt the same when I met my step-mother for the first time. Even worse, I got on with her.
Don't feel bad, you still love both your parents, and that's the important thing.
You're an adult, your parents are adults. Things change. Your love for them is strong. As a parent, that is the most important thing to me. I do not view meeting an important person in your fathers life as being a traitor.

I have 4 tattoos by Suzanne Fauser-Ann Arbor (deceased), 1 by Jack Rudy-California (also known as Jesse James' tatooist), 1 by Stephane Chaudesaigues of Avignon, France(piece of Camille Claudel who lived in Avignon), and one by Mark Koptke (unable to work do to, eh, well, you know). Also, wanted to say thanks for the info about Bugs...made me reconsider having him do a piece for me.
You're not a traitor n your mum wouldn't think you are. Don't be daft. Glad it went off ok.
